How We Help
Mindfulness
You’ll get better at noticing your thoughts, feelings, and body signals without judgment, staying grounded in the moment, recognizing urges before they take over, meeting yourself with curiosity instead of criticism, and making choices that truly fit your values.
Distress Tolerance
You’ll strengthen your ability to get through tough emotional moments without making things harder, ride out painful feelings without harmful coping, find healthy ways to soothe or distract yourself, accept reality when life feels out of your control, and discover meaning and growth even in times of struggle.
Emotion Regulation
You’ll become skilled at understanding your emotions and what drives them, caring for your body to feel more balanced, creating moments of joy and connection, shifting unhelpful emotional reactions, and letting go of heavy feelings like shame, guilt, or anger that no longer serve you.
Interpersonal Effectiveness
You’ll gain tools to ask for what you need with confidence, say no without guilt, handle conflict while keeping your self-respect, nurture relationships without losing yourself, and find a healthy balance between your needs and others’.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that was developed to help people deal with intense emotions. When you’re having really difficult feelings, they can lead you to make decisions based on emotions, instead of doing what might be best for you in the long run.
This can land you in a negative cycle of making decisions and acting in ways you wish you hadn't, being ashamed or angry with people around you, and then feeling worse about yourself and your future.
DBT offers clear instructions on how to be effective no matter what might be happening inside.
When you’re skillful at getting what you want out of life, you end up with less bad emotions. In fact, you might even end up feeling proud of yourself, liking your friends and family more, and being excited about what might happen next.
