Alicia Perez, LMHC is a psychotherapist and Clinical Director of Well Williamsburg. She is a New York State licensed Mental Health Counselor (license # 010378). She received her Bachelors degree from the University of Vermont, where she helped conduct research surrounding children’s socio-emotional adjustment in the context of family relationships and provided counseling at a local Domestic Violence clinic. Alicia received her Master's degree from Brooklyn College, where she provided assessments and counseling in psychiatric emergency rooms and on inpatient units. Since 2017, Alicia has had the privilege to work with many different people in a variety of settings.
Alicia specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and trauma. She has experience in both residential and outpatient treatment settings for eating disorders. Additionally, she has experience in intensive outpatient treatment for PTSD and outpatient treatment for PTSD. Her own recovery from an eating disorder and experiences in trauma treatment give Alicia a perspective that helps her in her work with clients.
Alicia is a multi-ethnic Chicana clinician. She has a passion for aiding clients through navigation of issues related to identity and the intergenerational transmission of racial and ethnic trauma. Alicia is a compassionate, direct and collaborative therapist. She works with clients to identify their treatment goals and tailors treatment to each client's needs. Modalities that Alicia frequently incorporates into treatment are psychodynamic therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy).
